Benefits Of Avocado For Dry Hair

Benefits of avocado for dry hairs

Dryness results in breakage, split ends, frizz and, in general, unhealthy hair. For some, it doesn’t seem to be enough, no matter how much you prep your hair during washes. Okay, this is where these nutrient-rich and super nourishing avocado hair masks can aid. Avocado is one of those ingredients that could help restore their former glory to dry and damaged locks. Scroll down for the benefits of avocado for dry hair.

Benefits Of Avocado For Dry Hair

Yes! Avocado is an important ingredient in the treatment of dryness and damage and in the following ways it can benefit your hair:

  • Avocado is rich in fatty acids called omega-3 and essential amino acids. These can cover your hair shaft and help keep moisture and texture in place. The fruit’s natural oils (yes, avocado is a fruit) offer long-lasting and profound hydration for your hair.
  • It contains vitamins A, B2, D, and E, beta-carotene, and copper and iron-like minerals. Such nutrients help feed your hair and scalp and encourage healthy hair growth
  • Avocado contains vitamin E which has antioxidant properties that can help prevent free radical hair damage. This can continue to keep your hair healthy for longer.
  • It helps repair damage by conditioning and supplying the essential nutrients your hair needs to be healthy.
  • The fruit is rich in biotin, which has been shown to help boost new hair growth

There is an inadequate scientific study of the impact of avocado on dry hair. Anecdotal evidence, however, indicates that many people used avocado masks to achieve silkier and smoother hair.

Avocado Hair Mask For Dry And Damaged Hair

While extracting the advantages of avocado for hair might be as easy as mashing the fruit and applying it to your hair and scalp, here are a few other DIY hair mask treatments that combine other hair care ingredients for better results.

1. Whipped Avocado, Honey, And Olive Oil Hair Mask

Olive oil contains Squalene which has excellent properties for cleaning and moisturizing. The oil is light, not weighing down your hair. Within just the first use it can make your hair soft. It can also assist with hair growth. Honey is a humectant that allows the hair shaft to seal water, curb the loss of moisture, and increase its luster. That can be the holiest hair care trifecta when dealing with dryness and injury.

You Will Need

  • 1 ripe medium-sized avocado
  • 2 tablespoons raw honey
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2-3 drops lavender essential oil (optional)

Process

Throw the ingredients into a food processor and process until the mixture is smooth and lump-free. Apply the mix to your hair and scalp. Don’t forget to apply the mixture to your hair tips. After the hair is completely covered in the mixture, cover it with a shower cap and apply heat for around 15 minutes using a blow dryer. You should sit in the sun for 30-45 minutes, as an alternative. Wash your hair with shampoo and cool water.  Use a towel to suck out the excess water from your hair. Let your hair be air-dry.

2. Aloe Vera And Avocado

Aloe Vera contains proteolytic enzymes on your scalp which slough off dead skin cells. It is a natural hair conditioner and may minimize hair loss and hair damage. Coconut oil, honey, and avocado work together to condition your hair while your cuticles are sealed by the low pH of lemon, adding brightness and minimizing frizz.

You Will Need

  • 1 ripe medium-sized avocado
  • 2 tablespoons raw honey
  • 2 tablespoons Aloe Vera gel
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons coconut oil

Combine all the ingredients until a smooth, lump-free blend is obtained. You can use a food processor to ensure that all of the ingredients are well blended. Apply the mix to your hair and scalp. Once you’ve fully covered your hair in the mixture, cover it with a shower cap and wait 15-20 minutes. Wash your hair with shampoo and cool water.  Use a towel to squeeze out the excess water from your hair. Let your hair be air-dry.

3. Avocado And Yogurt Hair Mask

Yogurt has hair conditioning properties that cure and treat dry and damaged hair with avocado. In this hair mask, honey and olive oil work together to lock in the nourishment and moisture offered by yogurt and avocado.

You Will Need

  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 1/2 ripe medium-sized avocado
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon honey

Mash the avocado until it is lump-free and apply to it the remaining ingredients. Blend well.
Apply the blend to your hair and scalp. Cover with a shower cap over your hair and wait 20 minutes. Wash your hair with shampoo and cool water. Use a towel to suck out the excess water from your hair.

Dryness can make your hair look totally dead, but it’s also the easiest hair issue you need to fix. Treat your hair to restore health and luster to your locks in no time with these awesome avocado hair masks.
