The best age to start lessons is when a child has an interest in learning to dance. They need to practice the moves that everyone shows them, and not just love doing their own dances and flitting about the room, constantly reminding me to watch, watch me! It should also be said that your kid should be able to use the toilet with no help, have a reasonable attention span, be able to obey a set of directions, and be secure enough to be without their caretaker for at least an hour.
