Seven Achiever Women Who Handled PM Modi’s Twitter Account

The seven achiever women, from various states and socio-economic backgrounds, were chosen from multiple entries received after PM Modi officially announced the launch of the #SheInspiresUs initiative on social media platforms on 3 March.

This began with the PM sending Women’s Day greetings-

1. Sneha Mohandoss: Hunger activist and founder of NGO Food Bank

Faithful to Mahatma Gandhi’s ideology, Chennai-based social worker Sneha Mohandoss was the first of seven women to handle Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Twitter account on International Women’s Day. She insisted on feeding at least one poor citizen and emphasized zero food wastage. In a tweet, Mohandoss said: “When I do what I am passionate about I feel inspired! I want to encourage my fellow citizens, especially women, to come forward and join hands with me. I encourage everybody to feed at least one poor person and lead to a hunger-free planet.” Mohandoss, a 23-year-old visual communication student currently employed in an event management organization, is running a FoodBank-India campaign to link people who want to support hungry people with home-cooked, healthy food in Chennai.

2. Malvika Iyer- Disability activist

The second person who managed social media accounts from Prime Minister Modi was the bomb blast survivor Malvika Iyer. Iyer, the second woman to run Modi’s social media account, says in her pinned tweet, “Say hello to Dr. Malvika Iyer Heart suit. PS: Do you see that bone protruding from my right hand to everyone who has been wondering about how I type? That’s my one and only’ extraordinary finger’ I have typed my Ph.D. thesis with it.” Iyer survived a horrific bomb blast in Bikaner, Rajasthan, at the age of 13. This did not, however, stop her from chasing her dreams.

Iyer is an award-winning campaigner for disability rights, earning a PhD in social work. She is the recipient of the president’s highest civilian award for women,’ Nari Shakti Puraskar.’ Iyer is an international motivating speaker, a TEDX speaker, an accessible fashion model and a global shaper at the Global Shapers Community (the World Economic Forum initiative).
